Friendly: Ecuador ties Jamaica
Ecuador versed the “Reggae Boys” in the Giants Stadium in New York. Ecuador played a uncommon formation throughout the game, a 4-3-3. The three forwards were Montero, Rojas, and Carlos Tenorio. While Castillo, Noboa and Quiroz were the holding midfield. The back four were Miguel Ibarra, Marcelo Fleitas, Iván Hurtado & Walter Ayoví. Ecuador attacked and dominated the whole game but couldn’t find the end of the net. Matamoros made his debut in la tricolor during the end of the second half and really didn’t affect the game. Cristian Noboa & Segundo Castillo did a majestic job holding the midfield and Miguel Ibarra improved his performance since last time he played with Ecuador in the game against El Salvador. Hopefully they won’t have trouble finding the net in the crucial game against Colombia this September.
