I CHANGED MY MIND BALDEON HAS A 50-50 CHANCE ON MAKING IT. LARA SHOULD MAKE THE TEAM BUT ITS BETWEEN BORJA AND BALDEON. PROBABLY BORJA IS GOING TO MAKE IT. BALDEON IS SIGHTLY INJURED.

first of all u do need christian lara. size doesn’t matter at all n he’s an excellent kicker. Franklin salas is injured so he wouldn’t really play a lot of mintues if he gets the call. Felix borja only plays good in nacional. I don’t really see him playing that well for la tri. Roberto mina is a maybe. carlos tenerio yes. jhonny has a 75% of getting the call. I wouldn’t like to have ivan kaviedes on my team. He is really good though. Felipe caicedo might not recieve the call.

E4L: True, I’m making a big assumption in guessing that JIK would be in the mix at all. Although I would like to see El Nine on the roster, I certainly understand if Suarez leaves him off.

As for Salas, I hear conflicting rumors every other day, so it’s hard to say what his real status is.

First, I think the list below all merit the opportunity to represent our country. I would exclude Ivan Kaviedes based on “characther issues.” Ecuador is in the spot light and I feel we really need to create a positve reflection of our country. We’ve had way to much turmoil already with the “Luna scandal” so I’d rather lose with class than win with mud on our face. That being said I think this group CAN win.

Nice list Trent. I def. agree that Delgado, Tenorio and Borja will be on that plane to Germany. Mina may be too green and Kaviedes will be three hours late getting to the airport. The Christhian boys, Benitez and Larita, will probably fill in for them.

I still think the scoring will have to come from the midfielders. Tenorio’s the fastest big guy I’ve ever seen but he panics in front of goal, and Delgado will be guarded tighter than Fidel Castro at a Miami Heat game.

Baldeon took it upon himself to create some buzz, he’s been telling the dailies he’s 200% sure he’s going to Germany.

Trent – I think you’ve got great insight into the Ecuadorian game but my picks at forward to partner El Tin would be Salas or Lara. I think speed at this level is more important and Salas and Lara have game breaking ability… just in case goals are hard to come by as many so-called experts predict.

I’m not sure about Salas match fitness but assuming he’s fit, I’d take:
