Update: Ecuador 2-1 Chile
At the half, it’s 2-1 Ecuador, who have definitely had the run of play. Benitez has been everywhere, and has impressed me. Goals from Bene and Val have paced La Tricolor, who lead in corner kicks 5-0 but also in yellow cards 2-1 (UDLC, E Tenorio).
In sartorial news, Mora has his face painted again, and Suarez is looking dapper in a light blazer, no tie, and unbuttoned shirt.
Updates may be sporadic, but please keep checking in and commenting!
A screeeeeeeeeeaaaaamer off of the post almost makes it 3-1. But it’s still 2-1 in the 34th.
But wait! Goooooooooooooool de Benitez! Bad marking from Chile, but 2-1 it is in the 24th minute.
Bleh. Suazo equalizes in the 21st minute. Still think Mora should have had it. That goal was really against the run of play. La Tricolor need to buckle down here, as they are clearly the better squad thus far.
Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool!!!!!!! de Valencia!!!!!! 1-0 Ecuador in the 15th minute
Super Teno nearly makes it 1-0 in the 13th minute, but no dice. Ecuador having the run of play so far.
My updates will be quite sporadic, but just to let you know…it’s 0-0 here in the 4th minute.

The Ecuador boys look good after the first half, although I hope De La Cruz can keep himself from getting a second booking as he is marking a tricky player in Mark Gonzalez. Other then that, Carlos Tenorio should exploit the chilean defence and hopefully put them to the also our central midfielders should help hepl the back 4 more often.

Agreed on all counts,Lee. Although I should say that UDLC’s booking was a little soft I thought.
As for the frontline, I’ve been impressed with Benitez and think that C. Tenorio should be hitting the Chile back harder. They really should have at least another goal between the two of them.
Also, Mendez and Val are class and it shows. Mostly!

Cant beleive it, chile took their chances we didnt simple as that…eventually after tenorio came off we began looking one dimensional but the real turning point in the game ,to be fair, was when the linesman called offside on an Ecuador striker when he clearly was through on goal just before chile equalized- it would have been game over had Ecuador scored that….nonetheless an excellent game for the neutral and a good promotion for Ecuadorian football and you are right Valencia is on another level.

But also it is clear to see that Edwin Tenorio and Mora are the weak links in the side, both them players wouldn’t even get to play in the English second division- Edwin is there to pick up cards and Mora’s kicks out are terrible plus he’s barely 6,1ft way too short for a keeper. I hate losing like this, but keep the faith ![]()
