Um, Yeah, I Was Totally in Japan At the Time
Okay, so Ecuadorian striker Ivan Kaviedes went briefly AWOL from his club, Argentinos Juniors. He eventually showed up back in Argentina, after travelling to Ecuador to look for a new club. Well, it seems that El Nine told his Argentine bosses that he was away from the club because he had travelled to Japan with the Ecuadorian national team for their friendly on March 30. This was news to Coach Luis Suarez. Advice to El Nine: if you’re going to invent an excuse for missing work, don’t hang it on your participation in a televised event.
