UDLC to Reading?

August 22nd, 2006 | By: Trent | 10 Comments »

Ecuador defender Ulises de la Cruz may be headed to Reading. The Premiership newboys have taken UDLC on trial after his contract ran out at Aston Villa.

Good for UDLC to keep at it.

michelle,
sorry i’m not trent, but i can put my 2 cents in on our league. just dont put the house on any team cos ANYTHING can happen when you’re talking about Ecuadorian football.

The best team right now is Barcelona…de Guayaquil. They have the highest goal differential (+8) and have played pretty consistent soccer. They’ve come out of a rut by importing some good players. Rumor has it Trent’s boy Kaviedes might be making a return…

On the OTHER end of the spectrum sit Aucas. the only thing consistent about them is that they’ll lose. they score a lot of goals and field the league’s most potent striker (Wilson Segura, a Colombian) but they give up a lot of goals too. if i were a betting girl i’d bet against them week in and week out.

el Nacional beat LDU in a Copa Sudamerica game 3-2 this past Wednesday and sit third the Serie A rankings. They began this season shaky (they lost their captain, Jorge Guagua, as well as super striker Felix Borja and little big man Cristian Lara during the offseason)but seem to be righting the ship with every match. They’ll be hitting a stride soon i believe…

LDU lost Edison Mendez and Neicer Reascos a few weeks back and are hurting bad without them. Perhaps the return of Franklin El Mago Salas will help inject new life into this struggling team…

Olmedo and Deportivo Quito are also good bets (both have lost just once so far this season). Olmedo’s gonna have a defensive gap to fill with the mullet Perlaza out the door and Dep. Quito’s having disciplinary problems with some of its players so don’t bet the kids’ lunch money on these outfits.

hope this helps

My parents were born in Guayaquil so I bet Barcelona will beat LDU Quito tomorrow.
