UDLC Continues His Charitable Ways
It doesn’t happen every day, but sometimes in sports you come across a guy who is just a good dude. Presently I’m talking about World Cup defender Ulises de la Cruz, who earlier this year was named a FIFA goodwill ambassador. UDLC, whose contract with Aston Villa of the EPL will not be renewed, is now in the Ecuadorian province of Imbabura doing humanitarian work with orphaned children. Good man.

It doesn’t surprise me to read stuff like this about UDLC, lots of players can learn from this guy not just about soccer but about humanity. Great guy!!!!

The work all these guys are doing is great.
Tin has the biggest foundation in the country. He helps countless of children and has started his own “soccer school” where he pays for their education and for soccer training. He also provides food and clothing to many families.
Ivan Hurtado also has a similar school and foundation.
Our players had the reputation of being uneducated drunks who played because they had nothing better to do. Now they are model citizens who make us proud. They are educated, eloquent and in many cases bilingual (DLC and Tenorio speak very fluent English).
I hope more people follow in their footsteps
