Tin Injury Update

February 25th, 2006 | By: Trent | 2 Comments »

Coach Luis Suarez has indicated that Augustin “Tin” Delgado’s injury is a minor one and he should be fit well in advance of this summer’s World Cup. Although the groin injury will keep Tin out of the March 1 friendly against the Netherlands, this is welcome news to fans of La Tri. Still…ever notice how only someone else’s groin tear can be considered minor?

What other players are injured for Ecuador? Can we expect Salas back for the WC? I’d like him to get a few games of action back but I think he and Lara are critical to success of the team.

I just saw Liga play in Copa and the Ecuadorian players played well except for finishing. That is going to be their 2nd biggest concern going into the WC I think after an internationally tested keeper.

I agree with you on Salas and Lara, as well as the team needing a keeper who has the mettle to play well in the air when necessary. I think Mora will be that man–hopefully he is well tested in the upcoming friendly.
