Think the Fans Are Happy?
I’d say yes.
After the jump, some video highlights from the gold medal win over Jamaica.

Man, the penalty call was bogus. Foul happened outside the box.

Man the penalty might have been dubious but i aint complaining, about time ecuador won something. I also wanna say that I hope Ecuador fans dont get too excited because we only beat Jamaica and i doubt that they are gonna be a major footballing source anytime soon, but we did beat brazil so its cool for now.

Close call different angles show different outcomes I guess

Rone,
I dont know if you saw the entire game. I think the ref called it a penalty because of earlier foul in the goal box which he failed to call. Also, it is very difficult decision based on his vantaje point.
If the penalty would have not been called, think Ecuador would have scored anyway.
I think the real lesson to be learned is not that we beat Jamaica a lesser rival ( I dont agree since they beat Argentina) but that we FINALLY WON A DAMM INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT AND GOLD MEDAL! It demonstrates that Ecuador has the right talent for the future and possibly can be a leading futbol contender in South America.
VIVA ECUADOR CARAJO!!!!

First off, Orlando, congrats, man! Assuming your post is sincere, that’s sweet and thanks for involving the Ecuador World Cup Blog community in your important decision. Seriously.
Second, I have a policy about not deleting posts unless they are commercial spam. To that end, Leon’s response stays up, but not because I agree with it.
We can’t possibly all agree with each other here (or anywhere else) after all.

Oh man Felix Borjas going to Germany but to the second division. FSV Mainz 05 is his new club but at least he has only been loaned. Another good thing is that he will meet up with Colombian Elkin Soto who some of you Barcelonistas will recognize.
Neicer Reasco has been playing starting line up for Sao Paulo more now. Maybe he could be good for our seleccion again.

Someone is on a different computer posting comments with my name on this site. I SWEAR THAT WASN’T ME WHO SAID THAT.

Just to clarify…it appears that the actual Orlando did not write the post clocked at “July 30th, 2007 at 10:23 pm”.
That’s according to the IP addresses I’ve just seen.
If someone was trying to pose as the actual Orlando…posting as someone else here really isn’t that cool. Please refrain.

Yeah thanks Trent. I’m not gay
