“The Whole World Knows a United Ecuador”

So said Ecuador captain Ivan Hurtado on the occasion of the team’s state reception in Quito.

After being honored by President Alfredo Palacio, El Bam Bam said: “Through football the whole world knows a united Ecuador…and the future of the country is the only match we can’t lose.”

Coming from anyone else, this would sound treacly, but I know Hurtado means every word of it.
