Team Anthem

Thanks to reader Cristian Buitron, here’s a link to what is being adopted as Ecuador’s team anthem for this World Cup.

It’s got a good beat, and you can dance to it. If you really supprt Ecuador, then “I Want to Wake Up Dreaming” won’t seem treacly. If you don’t…well, what can I say. It may not be “I Am a Sooooooooca Warrior”, but it’s just fine.

Hi Trent. I was searching through some German websites and I stumbled upon this updated version of a song every Ecuadorian loves “A mi Lindo Ecuador”. Apparently a guy from a city of many footballers, Esmeraldas, they decided to update the song, which was originally meant as a morale booster due to the war against Peru. Instead, This group (El Brujo y 5ta Potencia I think) changed the song to talk about how the massive exodus of Ecuadorians to different countries all over the world hasn’t been able to lower the sentiment of love towards our lindo pais.
