So You Think YOU’VE Waited a Long Time for a World Cup Championship?
Let me guess. Unless you root for Brazil, France, Germany, Argentina, Italy or the like, you think you’ve been waiting forever for a World Cup championship. Uh-huh. Unless your name is Maria Capovilla, I don’t want to hear it! Ecuadorian Senora Capovilla, you see, is the oldest living person in the world.
Maria Esther de Capovilla was born in Ecuador’s largest city, Guayaquil, on September 14, 1889. 1889! Maria’s first World Cup was the 1930 edition in Uruguay, which came when she was 42 years old. Of course, that was everyone’s first World Cup. After all, she is 116 years old. So, quit yer complaining!
