Second Half

March 1st, 2006 | By: Trent | No Comments »

The Dutch take quick control at the start of the second half and go up 1-0 on a goal by Dirk Kuyt. The ball entered the box via–you guessed it–a high cross….

Kuyt nearly collects his second goal, and this after just collecting whistles in the first half….

At the 60 minute mark, the Orange are controlling most of the pitch and getting the better chances. Young Nicky Hofs comes in as a sub; will be interesting to see how he performs for the Dutch….

Castillo and Borja are in for Ecuador at 67 minutes, the latter for Carolos Tenorio. Is that too early to yank Tenorio?….

Not a lot happening at the 80 minute mark. Luis Suarez has made some more substitutions, which can be hased over later. La Tri have settled down and taken the game a bit more of a stalemate….

Mora still making great saves…and bad clears….

Full Time: Netherlands 1-0 Ecuador. All in all, not a bad result for La Tri. There are plenty of things for Suarez to work on, but also some bright spots, including holding one of Europe’s best to 1 goal at home, unlike some teams I know. *cough* Germany *cough*
