Potential Lineup Changes
The rumors have been all over the place, but it does look like there will be some lineup changes for Ecuador in its match against Germany. This note says that Ivan Hurtado, Segundo Castillo, Agustin Delgado, and Carlos Tenorio will all begin the day on the bench.
Instead, Jorge Guagua, Patricio Urrutia, Ivan Kaviedes and Felix Borja may start instead. Of these four, only Olympiakos man Borja hasen’t yet played in this tournament.

Carlos Tenorio AKA “Super Teno” o “Che Carlitos” has been recovered for his injury, and probably he is gonna be at the start up.

to be honest, this could be the stage that kaviedez has always wanted. back in 98 when he was the best goal scorer in the world (at least numbers wise), he showed what great touch he had. then he went to europe and…we’ll skip that part. lol. regardless, from the last two games you could tell that he wanted the ball any given chance…and this is a VERY good thing. a goal scorer in the greatest stage with confidence. he has proven that he can finish and create space, but i think tomorrow we will see the best of him.

I agree with you mdo. I was very impressed with Kaviedes’ eagerness to try to score. I think he is a very controversial and very misunderstood true soccer talent. I am hoping to see good things from El Nine.

After watching the game, it seems evident to me that Jorge Guagua, Ivan Kaviedes and Felix Borja lack international class.
The forwards did not seem used to each other and lacked skill, pace and class that we are used to with El Tin and C.Tenorio.
Simply, Guagua looked to be at fault on all 3 goals.
To give some positives to an El Nacho player, I thought Lara played well when he came on and looked a real threat but he did not have the forwards to link up with.
Mora I also thought made some nice saves and the 2nd goal was the only mistake in judgment – the other two goals he had no chance on.

El Simon,
I have to agree with most of your analysis with the exception of Kaviedes. He actually played ok and has been quite effective in the 2 other games.
My two suspect players of the game would be Guagua and Ayovi. However, we just weren’t in sink for some reasons. I really believe the home field advantage played huge in this game. In addition to Germany playing a heck of a game.

True E4L. I am being a little harsh on Kaviedes as I think he is a good change of pace player from El Tin and Tenorio but I’m not sure if he is a 90 minute man. I also failed to grill Ayovi which you did nicely.
The drop-off between Guagua and Hurtado at this level is appaling too. I’ve seen Guagua playing for El Nacho and he’s a good if not great defender for his club. What happened for him today was awful (I’m just looking at the highlights… er lowlights)

Ambrossi didn’t play his best game either. I usually like to see him in the middle and not in the back line.
The good thing is that we have a quality left back in Jose Valencia waiting in the wings. I saw him play with AJAX and the kid has a future.
What about Reascos you may ask? Well, he plays better on the right side, but with UDL there, Suarez plays him on the left.
I agree that Guagua is not able to play at this level. I didn’t mind what Marlon did, so I would have kept him in and take Guagua out for Perlaza
The only bright spot was E. Tenorio. I liked how he yelled at Klose and Podowski and how he didn’t want to shake with Ballack. That guy has steel balls.

jose Miguel,
Good points. Tenorio was a bright spot but I actually thought he should of shook hands. You know show a little sportsmanship.
