New Arrest in Ecuador’s US Visa Scandal

Luis Castro, Ecuador’s national team public relations director, has become the third high-profile arrest in the fruadulent US visa scandal. La Tri’s general Coordinator and former team captain Vinicio Luna got the balling rolling when he was arrested for providing and promising to provide fraudulent US visas to persons not connected to the national team. The team doctor, Patricio Maldonado followed suit. This third arrest kills the chances that this story will disappear soon. Coach Luis Suarez has vowed that this won’t distract the team during the World Cup; I hope he’s right, but I’m starting to have my doubts.
