More on the Mask & Otilino

It’s probably going to go down as one of the iconic images of this World Cup. After his masked goal celebration in Ecuador’s 3-0 win over Costa Rica, Ivan ‘El Nine’ Kaviedes explains the team’s love for fallen teammate Otilino Tenorio.
Said El Nine of Otilino: “He is a partner, a friend, a brother who was with us and is a part of us. He was with us a long, long time, and he transferred to us this joy that was very contagious.” Added striker Agustin Delgado, “We had a feeling that he was present with us.”
