Mina Unprotected by FC Dallas
Ecuador striker Roberto Mina has been left unprotected by FC Dallas of Majot League Soccer. This means that Mina can be selected by new MLS team Toronto FC in Friday’s expansion draft.
Mina played well with Dallas, but only sparingly due to a looooong bout with injury. With Kenny Cooper dropping back to midfield duties, next year it’s either going to be Mina (if he stays) or Dominic Oduro pairing up front with El Pescadito Carlos Ruiz.

Hey Sam: you can try out for the new team if you’re interested! Check here: https://secure.mlsnet.com/t280/fans/2006/tryouts/

This is good news! Hopefully TorontoFC pick him up. Being a fellow Ecuadorian living in T-dot, it would be awesome to see a fellow countryman represent! Toronto will also be hosting some of next years Under20 Championship…Vamos Sub20!!!

MLS.net is predicting that Toronto will in fact draft Mina. http://web.mlsnet.com/news/mls_news.jsp?ymd=20061116&content_id=78912&vkey=news_mls&fext=.jsp

I think Mina is good, but I wish he could play in Europe instead.
Oh a little update on our Tigres Ecuadorian in Mexico. He just arrived in Quito. Seems to me they might not keep him after a disastrous Apertura Mexicana. Which is bad, you know.

Saritama made a goal against Queretaro, though. That was the game before the last one that Tigres played.

Sadly Mina wasn’t selected for Canadian-Ecuadorians… perhaps acquire him in a trade.

Yeah, I was sort of hoping Mina would get picked up. I thought he would be of more use in Toonto than Dallas; but I also think he can be pretty helpful there in Texas.
