Meola’s Career Began Against Ecuador
April 11th, 2006 | By: Trent | No Comments »
The US drew with Jamaica tonight 1-1 in a friendly played in Cary, North Carolina, USA. The news leading up to the match was that US goalkeeper Tony Meola would earn his 100th cap by starting in goal for the Red, White & Blue. And so he did, although not without shaky moments. Meola’s first cap came against Ecuador in 1988, when La Tri won 1-0 on a goal that was, coincidentally, also Meola’s fault. At any rate, congrats to Meola on his cap milestone.
