June 12th, 2006 | By: Trent | 3 Comments »

Ecuador midfielder Edison Mendez assures Coach Suarez that he and the team will player better against Costa Rica.

El Profe Suarez takes this as a good sign that the players are nowhere near satisfied with their accomplishments to date. Let’s hope.

I rewatched the game and Mendez played poorly. I am counting on him having a breakthrough game. I’ve sween him play for Liga and when he’s on he can control the middle quite effectively. Not to mention that canon of a leg he has.

He didn’t play that badly; he made the pass to Kaviedes that led to the second goal, after all.

Considering the pressure of the importance on that game, his performance was acceptable, we all know the attention of every Ecuadorian around the world will be on his game, if they keep playing as they did on Friday against Germany, qualifying on first place from group A won’t be just a dream .
Way to Go guys.
Arriba Ecuador!!!
