Mendez Sits Out Training

Ecuador midfielder Edison Mendez sat out training today in Bad Kissingen. Apparently it’s a stomach virus that should not keep him from starting next Thursday against Costa Rica.

Also, all indications are that center back Ivan Hurtado will be fit for the match as well.

Hmm. If he doesn’t play Thursday–and I think that he will play–I suppose Lara, Urritia or Ayovi could step in. Against CRC, I think I’d go with Lara, although I think LFS would start Urrutia. May need to shuffle the midfield a little bit either way re: positioning.

Still, let’s hope he starts and its a moot point.

rone — you have nicely connected the dots. I can’t comment on German ceviche, but I hope that the chefs that the team brought with them to Bad Kissingen came through.

On the other hand…I did somewhat unadvisedly order a ’shrimp cocktail’ once in the Frankfurt am Main airport. /shudder/
