Mendez Puts PSV Atop Eredivisie

November 14th, 2006 | By: Trent | 4 Comments »

Ecuador midfielder Edison Mendez has helped PSV jump over Ajax to lead the Dutch Eredivisie. Mendez–a finalist for the Ballon d’Or–assisted on the game’s only goal as PSV beat Ajax in Amsterdam.

Mendez was also sent off in the match for accumulating two yellows; a bit harsh I think.

Ehhhhhhhhhhh-Deeeeeeee-Suuuhhhhnnn!!!!! also gave an interview to PSV TV wherein he discusses his nervousness before big matches like the Ajax tilt. Understandable, but given his great start with the Dutch champions, that nervousness will dissipate over time.
