Mendez Headed to PSV Eindhoven

July 30th, 2006 | By: Trent | 7 Comments »

Ecuador World Cup ace Edison Mendez will be leaving LDU Quito for Dutch side PSV Eindhoven. The 27-year-old midfielder, who was on several clubs’ transfer target lists after his play in Germany this summer, will now get a chance to play in the Champions League. The clubs have agreed on a fee, and only a couple of t’s need to be crossed.

A great move for Edison.

I hope so. Liga will miss him, but i’m glad he has the chance to go to a club like PSV.

I wonder how he fits on the team.
right-side or left-side?? or center?
I doubt Beasley & Mendez will be effective together, thus my guess is one of the two dropped from starting-11.
In my opinion Mendez will get the starting position (probably right side).

I predict a good show from Mendez in his new club.

Huh… still Thursday and I’ve heard no word. Could someone give a update on whether he signed the contract or not?

The sports director of PSV has said that so far it has not made a move to get Mendez services. As of right know PSV are thinking of talking to L.D.U. Quito, club were Mendez plays in. Even tough, in Liga’s webb-site, they give information saying other wise. I’m sure that means that what ever the offer of PSV might be, i’m sure Liga will accept. The only thing we can do is wait.
