trent, all,

quick breakdown of the match:

first off, this was basically an ecua B side vs. a peruvian A side. Ecuador came to test new blood while Peru feilded their best players.

off the top of my head, the lineup was SOMETHING like this:

mora

Montano, Guagua, la Sombra(captain), and a blanquito with long hair (i'm guessing aguirre?)

edwin tenorio, soledispa, urrutia, benitez

kaviedes, caiecedo

Mora came up big time and again and surely secured a place as our #1 between the sticks

guagua missed a penalty and played somewhat shakey defense

espinoza is a rock on defense and is a true leader

montano is a late bloomer but came into his own tonight. his vertical would make dominique wilkins jealous

aguirre *was that aguirre?* is a bit lethargic on defense and took an earful from la sombra on several occasions

the midfield was particularly disappointing. only soledispa stood out. he created a few angles and seems speedy with the ball

kaviedes plays a class above his peers but really needs a grade A striker to bring out the best in him

Caicedo is a precocious youngster and the future of Ecuadorian football

Ecuador led for about 70+ minutes but a slipup on defense allowed peru to equalize. too bad, so sad, ecuador could have capitalized numerous times in the first half but came up short time and again.

peru controlled the midfield while ecuador controlled the flanks.

attendance could not have been more than 30,000. peruvians outnumbered us 2-1.
