The Vuvuzela is an annoying plastic trumpet also known as a stadium horn that is constantly blown at all soccer/football matches in South Africa. It sounds like a deafening mix of angry elephants trumpeting, a swarm of buzzing bees and a fog horn. What can we do? Go to http://www.banvuvuzela.com/ Register with your name, country and email and then vote. Tell your friends and family to do so too. It is our intention to submit these votes to the relevant authorities who can do something about it. Together we can make our 2010 World Cup the best experience for all.

Yo Carlos,

Great work so far on the blog. Here’s some info to keep people enthused:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/8127596.stm

What a great piece of news for ecuadorian football. Valencia at the best club in the world. I’m definitely going to get tickets to the first match of the season Man Utd v Birmingham where hopefully there will be 3 Ecuadorians gracing the Old Trafford pitch!

Birmingham City fan here, Espinoza is likely to be 4th choice center back, but will provide support for the signing of Benitez and should help him settle, looking forward to see them both in Royal Blue.

Just letting all you Ecuador fans know, the following article on the Bolivia World Cup Team Blog page re-lives one of the great altitude moments: Ecuador’s 1-0 win over Brazil in Quito in 2001. Have a look:

Ouch. A crowd silencer on an almost Iniesta-like level.

Also, I have no idea what makes a goal a goal instead of an own goal.. If it had been a Sporting Lisbon player that deflected the shot like that, I feel like the deflector would have gotten credit.

It seemed to me that it deflected off Peter Wisgerhof number 11 in my opinion.

He’s fast, but without a doubt is NOT the fastest

Who can you compare is faster? I have never seen swift European players such as Agbonlahor, Lennon, Cisse run as fast as he does.

Incredibly fast, if only teams will give him the chance to play often to show how good he is.

You can’t base everything this video, the guy chasing the ball next to him was slow. Martins from Nigeria may be faster

Carlos: Im moving to Guayaquil in a week and was wondering if you could give me any suggestions of how I can get my “football fix” there. Also, is it possible to watch Man Utd over there now? Hopefully they are interested due to Valencia playing there now.

Regards

Well Johnny it won’t be hard to get your futbol fix there. The media pays a lot of attention in soccer. In Guayaquil, there are sports show like Los Protagonistas and such that discuss not only Ecuadorian soccer but also international soccer news. For example when I was in Guayaquil they showed parts of the Ronaldo presentation at the Bernabeu. I am sure they will show Man Utd there since Valencia plays there now. When Edison Mendez played in PSV they showed their games there. Hope his helps.
