Kangaroo to Greece?
Is Ecuadorian international Felix Borja on his way to Olympiakos of Greece later this year? The ‘Kangaroo’ of El Nacional may make a move to the Peloponnese to join the Greek champions after the World Cup. This would be a great move for Borja if it happens.

Do you have any other information about Borja moving to Olympiakos? All newspapers here in Greece have the interest of Olympiakos as a first page today. What do they say in Equador?
P.S A small error…Peloponnese is an area of Greece, but Olympiakos is from the city of Piraeus.
Greetings from Greece.

Kostas–Welcome! And please forgive the error. I must have confused Piraeus with Patras, which, I admit, is pretty ridiculous. Anyway, I think Borja would do well to move to the Greek league. Borja has scored several goals this season for his club, El Nacional. I believe his recent play will put him on the WC roster.
Last I heard, the transfer details would be settled after Orthodox Easter in Greece. Something in the neighborhood of a $1.5 million transfer fee and a $500k salary. Are the Greek papers saying the deal is done?
Thanks again for reading–Trent

Hello from greece again !
Today the newspapers say that olympiacos is going to sign Borja this week.
Anyway, the best soccer video game ever which hasn’t original names in all teams, it has olympiacos as peloponnese or something like that. Maybe that’s why some people believe that olympiacos is from peloponnese

Hello again and thank you for you answer. All Greek papers say that Borja is about to sign the next days, and also his manager said that 90% tha transfer is completed,so I think we will have good news soon.I saw some moments in the news with Borja and I got mad about him,in a phase he is passed from the middfielder and even if he is 5 metres behind the right back of the other team he passes him on the sprint and with a thunder shoot he scored.I hope that we will see that again in few months in Greece.
Thanks for all again,
Kostas- Olympiakos,Greece.

[...] No rumoured transfer has garnered as much attention on the Ecuador Blog as Ecuadorian international Felix Borja’s potential move to Olympiakos of the Greek top flight. It looks now as if a statement is planned for this Wednesday where Olympiakos will annouce that The Kangaroo is indeed headed to the Greek league double holders. The El Nacional striker would be set to join his new club after the World Cup. If the money is right, this will be a ghreat move for both Borja and Olumpiakos. If you’re wondering why Borja is called The Kangaroo, check out the picture after the jump. [...]

There is a new Borja-to-Olympiakos post at the top. Looks like it’s all over but the shouting. A great move, I think, for all concerned.

As you may already know the trasfer of Felix Borja was concluded yesterday night with almost $1,2m and 400.000 dollars per year for the player for a 4 year contact.I wish many goals for him in the forthcoming season and many chanmpionships with Olympiakos!!!

Kostas, I think this is a great move for both Borja and Olympiakos. I posted a couple of new items in the last couple of days on this transfer.
And I can tell you that Ecuadorians are always happy to see their own go to some of the top clubs in Europe. Check back on this site for Borja updates during Ecuador’s World Cup run, however long it may be. Good luck!

I will do that be sure about that,as I will look around for Borja’s achievements durind the World Cup.I want to wish the best for Equador.

Greatings from an Ecuadorian, and particular fan of El Nacional (former Borja’s team). In Ecuador has also big this transfer of Borja to Olympiakos. Borja became the main stricker for our team last year on Campeonato Clausura (Clousure Championship), he was the one who scored the most goals in the tournament giving the Championship (after 9 years) to El Nacional. For us is a mix between happiness for him to go to such a big team as Olympiakos and also sad because is a great player that is going, I’ve been particular a supporter of him since he started in my team, and now I will follow his progress there in Greece, good luck!

Hi Fernando. I can imagine the bittersweet feelings El Nacional fans must be experiencing. Awesome to see Borja get the recognition he deserves, too bad he’s leaving to get it. Thanks for the comment.
