“Ivan the Terrible”

Ecuadorian World Cup striker Ivan Kaviedes continues his run in the spotlight, this time in the German press.

I guess the “Ivan the Terrible” nickname was inevitable. Ecuador plays Germany in Berlin on June 20.

Kaviedes inclusion worries me but he said in Quito’s El Comercio paper today that he has the international pedigree to play in the World Cup where other forwards would not.

I still don’t think if I was Suarez I would have included Kaviedes but he gives a valid point.

El Simon–it seems to me that Kaviedes has been saying all of the right things in the last couple of weeks, which is a good sign. Still, I also agree that we can all believe it when we see it. All in all, I’m going to trust LFS and say I am glad El Nine is headed to Germany.

If it falls into place, having El Nine and El Tin up front at the same time could be a lot of fun to watch.

I think Trent is right, despite kaviedes’ poor form in european clubs, he will be a perfect complement to el tin u front
