Even though we are playing terrible I just wanna be the first to pay tribute to Suarez for what he did for us prior to 2010 qualifying and will be noted as an Ecuadorian hero for bringing us to the last 16 of the 2006 world cup but now our attention turns to hire a new coach as another rebuliding phase begins.

Suarez was a good coach but it’s not just his fault why ecuador lost these games. It’s mostly the players fault. It’s mostly the players fault because first off with the defence… They did a good job in the world cup, i mean there there defence was amazing. Then when we had those games with United States, Mexico, Chile, Brazil our defence was defenceless. Our Midfielders are very talented players. Edison Mendez was playing really well in PSV and in the last world cup qualifying matches. Antonio Valencia is an amazing player, on his first debut with ecuador he scored two goals in the match with paraguay. Segundo Castillo can have his good games and his bad games. I think Edwin Tenorio should go back on the team because Urutia isn’t playing that position well. There are some other talented players like Eder Vaca, Miller Bolano, Dixon Mendes and Franklin Salas that should get called up As for the Strikers. Carlos Tenorio played really really well in the world cup. He had two goals and hit the crossbar against england. The World Cup is tougher than qualiying matches or any other match and why can’t Tenorio score more than what he scored at the world cup???? As for the other Striker Benitez, he’s really talented but he has no one else with him in offence. It seems like he can’t communicate with the other strikers. My last thing to say about ecuador is that i think they need el TIN DELGADO. He’s the best player Ecuador ever had. He led them to both World Cups and maybe he can lead them again.

All I can say right now is that I am devistated by the way our team has unfolded in the past year. We are no where near in sync as we were last year. But Im also a realist and if you look at how we started the last qualifiers to this one, is that we are only 3 points difference. Last time we lost in Brazil and in Paraguay too, all we have to do is make up our 3 points from our Venezuela lost, so if we go and win the remaining home games and win at venezuela we should be able to position ourselves for another run at the 4th or 5th spot. Lets just hope that our players still have the heart and “huevos” to play hard.

Its been a while….. and theres a lot to say. But I wont say it.

Guys… I dont think we’ll be in South Africa. Let’s face it we just lost Suarez and the players have lost their team spirit. Vizuete has absolutely NO experience coaching first division teams much less the seleccion.

Besides Colombia just beat Argentina 2-1 and are second. Paraguay, Chile, Uruguay and others want to get there just as badly. It’s hard….

It’s hard there’s no doubt kn, but I’m not giving up after all we have been in darker times and not saying these past few months have been easy for us all to watch coming from our highs of the World Cup to the lows of the Copa America but I believe times will get better :) after all when have we ever had a easy path laid for us it’s what makes us who we are SI SE PUEDE!!!!

oh and for all those in need of a pick me up here’s a video for you all :)

I’m glad for “la tricolor”, it was about time. Also, I’m so glad I wasn’t mistaken with Vizueta, he really brought luck to our needed team. Vizueta’s coaching, strategy & motivation absolutely paid off turning our bad luck into good luck. I hope he gets a change and remains as Ecuador’s coach. Keep up the good job Vizueta!!!!

Well compatriotas, now we gotta wait until june’08, and guess what…we are gonna play against Argentina in Buenos Aires. There, we gotta show this gauchos what we are made of. And then, “los cafeteros” will come to play in Quito. Yeah, Colombia-Ecuador a game where fireworks are gonna come out there.

Guys,
I wrote months ago that Vizueta should replace Suarez. I wish the change could have happen after the poor performance in the Copa America. I think the 5 to 1 was awesome. You could clearly see the changes implemented by Sixto paid off dividends. I liked that he brought back Hurtado, Ambrossi and the defender De Jesus. I liked how Omar and Paul moved up to attack and therefore we were very offensive. Hurtado played awesome.

I think Vizuete should stay on. I think he understands the Ecuadorean mentality and talent. Also he is from my hometown Latacunga.

We are ending the year with our heads up. I am following the Mexican league championship since Benitez plays with Santos. He played awesome today. It was a good idea to bring him in a private jet to mexico. He deserved it!!

Bye

Barcelona S.C. is going to be a good team for the 08/09 season. They have a lot of good players from el selecion like Quiroz possibly Edison Mendez Ivan hurtado Oscar Bagui Jorge Guagua Jario Montano Cristian Lara and Omar De Jesus. There are some other talented players on the squad like Edmundo Zura Carlos Castro Pablo Palacios Rolando Zarate Marcelo Delgado Gaston Sessa Fernando Hidalgo and Luis Miguel Garces. I hope Barcelona goes really far in the future.

Hey Christian,
On March 26 the TRI is playing a friendly against Haiti in Latacunga. I would have preferred a better team but lets see what happens.

I agree with you Christian. I think Felipe will do good since the Haiti defenders will leave open spaces. In addition, Benitez is playing better in Mexico and should score. My main concern is the altitude and the impact on some of the players that play outside of Ecuador

Thanks Christian. The team did well and we saw some new faces. Issac Mina, Carlos Hidalgo, Gabriel Achilier. The one that impressed me was Banguera. He is so strong with his kick and he did a magnificent job when we played against Mexico in the SUB-23 friendly match this year. We one 1-0. I think he is going to be the titular.

I like what Vizuete is doing. We played a decent team like Haiti and the next one is tough with France. The French match is a prelude to the Argentina elmination match. We need to play that match with alot of skill and execution.

I am hoping they play here in New Jersey (USA). There are alot of Ecuadoreans that will go to the stadium

I didn’t like how Ecuador played in the friendly against Hati. Too many mistakes. Valencia and Avoyi have to step up. There doing allright. they just have to do a lot better.
