Ecuador

Hate To Say It, But…

…is this Copa America sucking?

In the interest of full disclosure, the two teams I root for in the Copa America, Ecuador and the USA, were the worst two teams in the group stages. So maybe that’s coloring my take at the moment. But let’s take a look at the quarterfinal matches.

Uruguay 4-1 Venezuela
Brazil 6-1 Chile
Mexico 6 – 0 Paraguay
Argentina 4 – 0 Peru

Hmm. 20-2. That just isn’t good football folks.

I haven’t seen every match, to be sure, but what I’ve seen has been incredibly boring. Am I missing something? What do you guys and gals think of the Copa this year?

Guys,
I had a chance to see most of the games and it was not boring at all. What is surprising are the amount of goals scored. Also, the quarter final matches was bloody.

THe Mexico match was really unexpected but it demonstrates the quality of the players.

I was not really expecting USA to do much in this tournament. They are doing a superb job in SUB 20 in Canada. That new talent will definitely benefit USA in the next few years.

My commentary of Mi LIndo Ecuador. I think the lack of definition and some defense errors prevented us from being in finals. I am happy that we did get slaughtered like other teams. We lost to Brazil 1- 0 because of a penalty but no way did we lose 6-1 like Chile. Same thing with Mexico, we lost 2-1 and that is due to two stupid errors one is mora and the other Huratdo. In conclusion, I think Ecuador could have done alot better and would have a long way. We only needed to get the ball in the goal!!!

We have 3 friendlies before the eliminations for 2010. We have to win!!!

I would of enjoyed it a lot more if ecuador would have at least beat chile. Ecuador lost this tournament in the first ninety minutes.

Paul,
I heard that also but they are trying to get him to Europe instead of Mexico. he really did a great job in the Copa America. DId you hear Saritama finally left America and is going to be in the club Alianza of Peru. I think he is good player but did not have any playing time.

Of the record guys, did you hear what happened to 6 of Chile’s main players- banned for 20 international games, meaning they will miss most of the WC qualifiers, for drunken rampage at hotel after their Mexico draw- very funny…….. theres the link

Kevin,
I see you like to rub it in but if you read the article carefully it said we someone like Tin. We need a scorer. I don’t think at this time it would be Tin. The pace of the game is too fast for him. There must be some young talent out there?

A scorer like Tin. Look at Joffre Guerron. He from Liga and hes a player to watch for sure. He reminds me of el tanque Hurtado.

Finally, Benitez will be playing outside of Ecuador and in Oswaldo Sanchez team too. Good goalkeeper, good striker, not bad.

Im happy about Salas its about time anyway. And Red Star is a good team too.

Last thing im gona say is… we better call up Fernando Guerrero and Deixon Mendez soon!!!!! Train them and them use them that should be the plan and then our seleccion will be feared. I hope we crush Bolivia and El Salvador in August and September.
