Group A Foe Roundup
So, what’s happenin’ with Ecuador’s fellow Group A foes these days? A brief look after the jump.
GERMANY: The German army will deploy 7,000 soldiers to provide security and potential-catastrophe assistance during the World Cup. This means that many thousands of soldiers will be foregoing their vacations to be at the ready. So, best not to piss off heavily armed persons who are having their holidays ruined. Just a word of advice.
POLAND: Looks like forward Emmanuel Olisadebe is a no-go for the World Cup. Having played in the 2002 Cup, Olisadebe was hoping to make it a back-to-back affair. No dice, apparently.
COSTA RICA: Ticos headman Alexandre Guimaraes is worried about his team’s lack of friendlies leading up to the World Cup. Costa Rica hopes to have two more scheduled before the tournament starts in June.

Germany are putting all these ARMY MEN in the name of peace and order. And then it’s said they don’t have a sense of humour…
