Good News for Ecuadorian Players in Europe
Ecuadorian Coach Luis Suarez is making it a point to personally watch some of the Ecuadorian internationals that play in Europe. This is a good move by Suarez, and it shows that he isn’t cutting any corners when it comes to constructing the best possible squad for Ecuador for this summer’s World Cup. In particular, Suarez has heard the worries of players such as Ulises De la Cruz, who draws his check from Aston Villa in the English Premier League.
De la Cruz fears that his recent stint on the Villa bench might hurt his chaWorld Cup chances. But Suarez is taking in some Villa practices to get a better handle on UDLC’s current form. Also, Suarez will visit with Ecuadorian Luis Antonio Valencia, who plays for Recreativo de Huelva in Spain. Bravo to Suarez for going the extra mile. Of course, when ‘going the extra mile’ means taking an extended European vacation, you’ve got a good job.
