Full Time: Ecuador 0-1 England
Ecuador’s dream run is over as England tally another unimpressive win. Ecuador played them even and had the better chances in the first half. But La Tri did not react properly to (1) the Beckham goal or (2) the C. Tenorio injury.
Much more later. Congrats and fair play to England. Although if I were Portugal or the Netherlands, I’d feel good about seeing the semi-finals.

Ecuador deserves to be kicked out of the world cup, not for losing but for playing like a bunch of sissies.
This is the first time i’ve watch this team play and it’s a disgrace that you roll around the ground like girls and wimps when you are touched.
Go back to your mountain and come back when you play in the spirit of the game.
Ecuador will never be a force to be a reckon with, only a force in your own minds.
roll, roll, roll.. oh my leg.
pansies!!
And that goes for any other nation who does the same thing.
Get up and play like men

Mike,
And Scotland did what in this World cup?
By the way, it is ECUADOR with a C not a Q. I’m don’t know why I’m wasting my time responding to people like you.

fuck austrilia there gon lose aganist italy. fucking socceroo fagots

Yeah, funny that Ecuador was the one rolling around, when it was Terry who was diving from the outset of the game. “And that goes for any other nation who does the same thing.” You mean all of them?
The goal was not Mora’s fault, unless you think he should’ve predicted the future. It was a perfect strike by Beckham.
I think Tenorio did what he could with the ball that led to the crossbar shot. He took as little time as he needed.
Jose Miguel: Tenorio is not going to England, he’s staying in Qatar. He has two more years on his contract.

c’mon people it wasn’t Mora’s fault it was Castillo fault because he didn’t jump at that ball he was afraid I guess and we have to accept that Mora is one of the best GoalKeppers that Ecuador has even better than Cevallos or Espinoza Grande Mora he’s the best

Lok, for a team who barely made it to the second round you have a lot of balls. Just wait to see what the Italiand do, they are the kings of taking a dive. Did you see the USA game?
Rone, there is a rumor that an English team has offered 10 Mil for Tenorio.
The team can say no, but there is a loophole in the FIFA laws that allows a player to make the decision if he wants to accept the contract, only if it is a “better situation”. Now, the tricky part is the definition of “better situation”.
I don’t think he will move because his team doesn’t need the money like an Ecuadorian team does, but I hope he gets to play in a better league either now or in two years.

I am sad that Ecuador are out but they just didnt have the goals in them today. It was a good performance however to advance in this World Cup and beat out Poland who were good in WC Qualifiers.
The same cannot be said for Scotland who could not beat Moldova or Belarus in qualifying games so the trashtalk from Mickey of Scotland is hilarious about deserving to be there. A deep fried Mars Bar too many I think from Mickey. England’s goal was Beckham’s skill - other than that they didnt deserve to win either.
Loki01 doesnt know what he’s talking about but what should you expect from someone descended from a colony of England’s rejects. Joe Cole and Rooney weren’t exactly standing up the whole time either. You are going to really enjoy Oz’s next opponents if you think Ecuador were diving. If only everyone could be as tough and macho as Harry Kewell - one of the Prem’s worst divers who is from what country. I think the shrimp ya tossed on the barbie was bad and affected your brain.
Boo to the whiney people posting from other lands. they are just jealous that their nations are poorer at football than Ecuador.

I looked at Mike from scotland’s post. I wouldn’t waste my time speaking to utter soccer idiots who are biased because their poor little team didn’t make it to the WC. Oh, poor Scotland…

The little australian that posted here is jealous because Ecuador lost only 1-0 to England, whereas his team will lose 8-0 to Italy tomorrow.

First to all those bunch of loser like the australian guy…. and for the ecuadorian guy… this wasnt Mora’s fault, u gotta be proud of being ecuadorian!!!… Ecuador did a good job today and everybody who is Ecuadorian have to be happy about it, we made England suffered.. and England didnt win this game, it was Belgium cuz of the referee…. even though I wont discuss Beckham goal… It was a nice goal but it was cuz of the unfair referee!!!… England did a good job but not as everybody expect, we like
Ecuadorians, such a small country did an oustanding game, and u F@#$%^ australian arfe the pussy in here that dont even put your name LOOOOOOSEEEEERRR…..!!! Proud of being ecuadorian!!!!

Kathy, are you related to Lorena Bobbitt?
You are right, the ref did a horrible job, the team played against 12.
Thanks Binary Bloke, your team will have to play much better if they are going to beat Portugal or Holland. I rhink this is as far as the English will go.

Well, Ecuador made it a long way. I know that the referee made alot of bad calls… but Ecuador needed to play harder… If they would have done that, I know that they could have won that game… next time they will do better… Hello to all mis paisanos…chao..

I know I gave u English a hard time, I can take defeat, So I will say good game. I just hope that at least Ecuador deserved your respect as a good soccer nation, Of course I wasnt looking for the CUP, I wanted respect. If it wasnt for a post by Tenorio and a milli second of reaction by Mora, you would of seen a different game. I love you Ecuador with all my heart. I love the people of Ecuador and those who support them. Good Luck England and we’ll see you in 2010. Cheers

(Hope that makes sense!)

What is it with Loki as a freakin’ user name… I guess it shows for some people’s idiocy. anyhow…
I’ve been waiting 30 years for this opportunity, to see Ecuador play what is considered a top-notch team, and I’m not sad we lost. England has a population of 53 million people, some of the richest and most talented players in the world play in the British League, a World Cup champion in 66… and one of the most globally distributed media networks which helps a lot to intimidate small marginal nations like Ecuador by doing such things as overrating their Rooneys and Lampards, trying to compare those monolytic players with Ronaldinho or Kaká (give me a break)! I was expecting, like everyone else, the miracle. Shit, would that have been beautiful. Send Eriksson back early to his socialitic lifestyle, where he belongs, and all those (admittedly) non-performants back to their island. Teach them a lesson. It didn’t happen. It’s normal, it’s expected. We played a midfield game, we tried to become confident there in order to build our attack. We waited… (inexperience). We had some mishaps and that made us have to start over. We took the game seriously. We played to win and to fight. We were the only team on the pitch, really, at many periods fighting our own selves. Once we’d have that resolved, we could try and take the game. We didn’t entirely do so. We never got to that second objective. Ecuador wanted the midfield, so that it could play happily and defeat the cowardly speculation. England really didn’t give a shit about the midfield. They just put a lot of people in it, and that’s that! All they cared for was the goal. Very colonialistic, of course. In the end, we weren’t able to free up their stumpy, authoritative presence… But, you know, that’ll come. It is an honorable way to lose… in any case. I do think England won deservedly, because futbol is unfair and the reality is the result. If Beckham hadn’t made the goal, they would’ve gotten a penalty… or a couple of other more dangerous free kicks. We missed our opportunities. They were too few. But it won’t be like that forever. As all the smaller teams become better, the smaller Latin American teams become more modern, more talented, like always taking the sport to higher levels. Can’t expect that from any of those sickening Europeans sides. We had style… what does Ukraine or Switzerland or Holland or, please… Scotland and Australia have… it’s terrible. Australia committed 28 fouls per game, the dirtiest team in the World Cup! I’d like to see Australia defend Wanchope without giving him a penalty. An easy group. Whatever… Anyhow, in 6 years I predict an all-South American semifinal. (That is if Paraguay stays home)… Ecuador dejó todo en la cancha. The important thing is to know that that was only a beginning.

i think that ecuador is playing really good.. you could see that england had to struggle against them.. they were not an easy teem to play with, they are getting better at every world cup and ecuador should be proud of their team, because that is the spirit of the real football, it´s not just the same teams we see at every world cup, but the spirit of one that defeates all obstacles to get to the point where a legend like engalnd had to really make an effort to get just one goal..
