FEF Responds to Ticket Criticism
March 12th, 2006 | By: Trent | No Comments »
The head of the Ecuadorian football federation (FEF), Luis Chiriboga has responded to mounting criticism of the ticket / tour package monopoly created for this summer’s World Cup in Germany. Chiriboga, shown at right with Franz Beckenbauer, claims that the FEF met with many travel and ticket companies before allowing Mayortur to be the sole service provider. Wholesale agencies in Ecuador, of course, claim that they could have put the packages together for far less that the 3000 to 9000 euro price tag listed by Mayortur. Either way, I have a feeling that this World Cup Blog commenter has hit the nail on the head.
