European Titles for Ecuador Players
Let us give a hearty congrats to two Ecuador internationals who, in their first seasons in Europe, have already become league champions.
First was El Kangaroo, Felix Borja, an up and coming striker who helped Olympiakos win its 10th Greek title in 11 years. Okay, so maybe they didn’t need Felix that much, but it’s still a great accomplishment. As we’ve said over and over, every successful foray into top level club soccer by Ecuas is a good thing.
Even more impressive to me was the central role played by midfielder Edison Mendez in PSV Eindhoven’s Dutch Eredivisie title this season. Very impressaive–and don’t forget that Edison was a Ballon d’Or finalist.
I’d have to say, with no hesitation, that Edison’s season has been the best-ever by an Ecuadorian in Europe.
Now if only Carlos Tenorio would leave Qatar….

they will NOT let him go!!! All CArlos has to do is play rubbish and don’t score any more goals if he really wants to leave! But I guess his salary there probably is quite hansome!!

I dont know if you saw the finals of the Holland league but it was awesome. PSV scored 5 goals! Edison played very well and his passes are superb

Edison Mendez deserves it. Congrats to PSV.
Now a little update, it seems that Saritama was bound to leave Club America prety soon, but they decided to keep him. He’s only allowed to play in the mexican torneo, though, they won’t let him play in the Copa Libertadores.
El Tin’s ban got lifted, so everybody’s happy about that.
Wigan are seriously interested in permanently buying Valencia.
Atletico Madrid still are interested in Segundo Castillo, which would be a good move for him.
And finaly, Carlos Tenorios contract is over by the end of the season. That’s news that I’ve been wanting to hear for a looong time.
