Emelec Penalized Four Points

The FEF have penalized Ecuadorian club side Emelec four points for placing disqualified Jaime Caicedo on its bench for its recent match against Deportivo Quito. Emelec claim that it was the result of an organizational error out of its control, and will appeal the harsh penalty.

This is an outrage! I have been an Emelec supporter since Monday and undoubtedly this is the darkest day I can remember since I started supporting the team. Let’s hope the appeal works.

I was afraid you’d take this news hard. It’s already reminiscent of that roller coaster afternoon when you were an Olmedo fan. I know I’ll never forget it.
