El Tin Rumors

So we know that Ecuadorian star striker Agustin Delgado didn’t make yesterday’s World Cup team photo. I initially heard that he was still undergoing his personal physiotherapy regimen and couldn’t make the shoot. Other sources note that there was no official explanation given, giving flight to rumors of the situation.

Some think that El Tin was not in agreement with the money situation with the national team, hoping to get more of a salary and bonus for his efforts. Coach Suarez said that Tin was content, but that he wanted him to continue to treat his old injuries (right knee most notably)–thus the absence. But other papers are reporting that Suarez said he was surprised by Tin’s absence at the actual photo shoot. On the other hand, some papers didn’t even mention Tin’s absence.

Needless to say, I don’t know what’s what at this time. As long as everyone’s on the plane tomorrow, I’ll take it as a good sign.
