El Tin Gets FIFA’s Man of the Match
Ecuador striker Agustin Delgado, who tallied one goal and one assist, is FIFA’s man of the match in the 2-0 win over Poland. El Tin, who somehow had an otherwise quiet game, made the most of every opportunity that came his way.

Well he did secure the game with the 2nd goal. I think “El Sombra” Esponiza should have recieved man of the match

Espinoza did have a nice match. So did Hurtado and C. Teno before they went off. People are infatuated with stats, tho’, and Tin had a couple of ‘em.

Hey trent what do u think on Ecuador’s next game against Costa Rica. You have to give them props they scored 2 goals on the host. Germany

Yeah, Costa Rica did some interesting things today. They aren’t as good as Germany, for sure. But they showed a lot of patience in the counter attack. Wanchope may be 57 years old, but he showed seom real class today.
I have faith that Suarez will not take the defenseive risks that Kilnsmann did today, however.
I’ll of course post more on the Costa Rica game, and elicit your opinions as well. Should be a(nother) massive match!

Player of the game:
Antonio Valencia, he was aggresive, all over the field and played with a ton of heart. He has a very very bright future. I definetly have to give it to him as he was the one that made the most noise transitioning the ball from our defense to the offense. Not to mention his marking players on defense. He didn’t give them any room to breath. It was jsut brilliant.
No disrespect “El tin” since I wanted to name my second child Agustin. However, my wife didn’t think that was a very good girls name! but hey that’s another story!

It’s a good sign when so many players are candidates for MOTM!

Costa Rica:
They will be playing with pride and realize their world cup dreams are over if they lose to us. However, I believe we do have a much better team. This is when we can’t have a mental break down. They need to show mental toughness and keep playing and thinking like the under dog. I count on Suarez to have them ready.

I was extremely impressed with Ecuador today. I’ve not really seem much of them except some highlight reels here and there. They were energetic, physical, organized and creative. They looked very comfortable on the ball individually and they worked very well as a team. They deservedly took the lead and then set about the disciplined task of defending it. And yet weren’t afraid to push forward to steal another. A complete team performance and I can’t wait to see them go up against Germany. Of course, I’ll be looking forward to the Costa Rica match first. I think Ecuador will have won plenty of neutral fans today. Well done.
