Ecuador v. Peru Friendly in USA

August 22nd, 2006 | By: Trent | 9 Comments »

Ecuador will face Peru on September 6 in New York, USA. Expect another crazy scene in New York–well, okay, New Jersey, but I’m not in charge of the geography department over there. Ecuador last made an appearance in Giants Stadium in May of this year when La Tri played Colombia to a 1-1 draw in a warmup for Germany 2006.

Yours truly was at that match, and although I hope to be at this one well, plans are up ni the air. If you’re at all able, check it out–you won’t be disappointed. And you may know that Ecuador and Peru have, um, a bit of a history together. Should be all sorts of fun.

yeah seriously there is still bad blood between the two countries. i think it’s better to leave that kinda stuff out of sports; rivalries are healthy but grudge matches aren’t. i was at the last ecua-peru game and things got pretty nasty…let’s leave the animosity at the lincoln tunnel this time around.

Yeah. Especially here in the US. Let’s cheer on Ecuador without any nasty feelings.
