Ecuador v. Brazil

Looks like Ecuador’s next friendly will be against Brazil, on October 10 in Barcelona, Spain. This would be a huge match, not only for the notoriety that the match would bring La Tri, but many of Ecuador’s European-based internationals will (presumably) be availble for the match. Very cool.

Presumtive Brazil lineup here.

hey Chris,

good point, let’s see what tricks the boys in Europe picked up and if they can implement them against Brazil. One euro-based Ecua that’s been flying under the radar but will get a chance to play is Rorys Aragon.

funny you should ask about El Tin. Here’s what he’s been TRYING to be up to: http://www.diario-extra.com/septiembre/dia22/html/deportes1.asp

but seriously, he won’t be playing against Brazil in two weeks. He’s retired and plans to focus just on club play. AS SOON AS HE FINDS A CLUB TO PLAY FOR! LDU gave him the boot for bad behavior so he’s on the prowl again. Just what he’s prowling for i’m not too sure, but word has it he may be coming to NYC and hooking up with the Red Bulls.

Dar, El tin still is in LDU and you’re right he won’t be playing for the SELECCION anymore. And guys read this:As per FOX SPORTS Ecuador is the Seleccion in the Americas this year:

Cheers guys, I remember hearing that El Tin was to retire from international play after the WC. Pity:( still its good to know he went out on a high note with those great goals and the world got to see a glipmse of latino futbol at its best :) btw its good to know his been kept busy lol ;) Im still waiting on a Australia v Ecuador clash down here :) but until then BRING ON BRASIL!

nice catch Leo, i thought they showed El Tin the door again. and bravo ecuador, we’re finally getting the recognition we deserve.

An ecua-australia clash would be electrifying Chris and would make sense for both sides. Australia needs to play top teams to stay in WC shape, while Ecuador could use the traveling experience. between the rabid fans and high-quality soccer (not to mention lots of eye candy in the stands), that’s one i’d sell the hooptie and fly to Oz for!

Well lets hope someone eventually sees some sense and gets it going:) Australia are set to play Paraguay sometime early october should be a interesting clash but id still prefer to see La Tricolor proving the Aussie press wrong yet again (You know who you are)

Just the usual “Can only play at altitude” and so on. I wont point fingers at any one in particular but there was some extremely ignorant comments over here that showed little respect for La Tricolor and Ecuador in general during the world cup. But hey who has beaten Brasil and who hasn’t ;)

Maybe they’ll change their tone after a little battle with Brasil. So… is the game really gonna be in Sweden????????

hmmm. i sorta remember getting into it with one australian heckler. but he hasn’t been back here since.

Thanks for the link :) should be a great match no doubt, I think what really gets to the aussies is the fact a little country such a Ecuador has the ability and has proven they can compete with the best and beat them :) where I believe the “socceroos” in the WC came in very confident against brasil in that match and then lost. Still an Australia v Ecuador clash should clear up any more ignorant comments ;) the sooner the better :) and with the whole game in Sweden I dont understand why they chose that venue?

So far , Ecuador is winning 1-0 against Brazil… Hopefully Ecuador can continue with the amazing soccer that they have been playing and not let Brazil score on them.. Ecuador should seal the game’s fate by scoring atleast one more goal.

Go Ecuador… !

I’m sad to report that Brazil has tied the game. Now it’s anyone’s game.. Technical skill or luck.. which ever leads to another goal- I’m sure that will seal the fate for anywhich team makes the goal.

Ecuador vs Brazil (1-2). Ecuador had one man less due to Luis Antonio’s Valencia ejection from the game due to a red card. One goal was made out of error committed by a defender. All in all both teams showed a good game and at the end Brazil arose the victor by one more goal.
