Fulltime: Ecuador 1-2 Brazil. Goals by Borja, Fred and Kaka. Ecuador played nearly 70 minutes a man down after Valencia was sent off with a straight red. After the card, the match changed irrevocably in Brazil’s favor, with both of their goals coming after the send-off.

Much more later!

71′: Ecuador 1-1 Brazil, with Ecuador down to 10 men for most of the match.

66′: Same old song and dance, 1-1.

60′: Still 1-1. Brazil still enjoying most of the possession.

50′. Still 1-1. Brazil having more control, as teams with a man advantage are wont to do.

Halftime: Ecuador 1-1 Brazil. Ecuador down to 10 men. Goals by Borja and Fred.

40′: Ecuador 1-0 Brazil.

30′ Ecuador 1-0 Brazil. Ecuador down to 10 men after Valencia gets a straight red.

After 15 minutes: Ecuador 0-0 Brazil.

Notes after the match.

Ecuador played good eventhough one man down. It is shame we could not see Zura play his potential. Giovanni E. is an a$%hole

yup. someone hide Ambrossi’s boarding pass next time. he’s got no business playing for the team again.

Espinoza is in no way an ***hole. he’s in the thick of every defensive play, and by the side of his teammates during altercations.

i feel bad for tenorio. he used command respect and take it from you if you didn’t give it to him. he isn’t quite the player he once was…

hi Chris,

It’s hard to say who’s most at fault for the send-off: doodoo for acting like he got shot, the ref for being card-happy or Valencia for lashing out. i think a red card was harsh; the boy was being fishhooked from behind WWE style. Besides, the elbow was more of a love tap than anything. Not like it drew blood.

Ref’s eyes lit up like Al Roker on the buffet line when he dished out that red card.

I’ll check and see if there’s anything on YouTube.

Chris,

sorry, can’t find one of the red card incident but here’s Borja heading one in. He’s still a little rough around the edges, but his aerial assaults are outstanding.
