Crystal Palace Not Surprised by Kaviedes
Bob Dowie of Crystal Palace says he’s not surprised by Ecuador striker Ivan Kaviedes’ run in the World Cup.
El Nine was with Crystal Palace for six months during the club’s most recent stay in the English Premier League, but he left during the next transfer window when he was unable to find a stable role at Selhurst Park.
Says Dowie: “We knew what he could do, it was just the wrong year for him here,” said Dowie. “We were fighting relegation and did not have room for a shiny number 10.”
To my mind, Kaviedes has played, say, 2 and 1/2 good games in the tournamaent so far. Although I don’t expect to see him back at Crystal Palace, there should be plenty of places where he could land on his feet.
