Copa America Final: Ecuador 1-2 Mexico

July 1st, 2007 | By: Trent | 50 Comments »

That’s all folks.

But wait! 1-2 thanks to Edisoooooooooon Mendez!

Make that 0-2 Mexico.

But at least La Tri is pressing the issue with, um, El Tri. Still 40 minutes to go.

Still 0-1 as the second half begins.

Nery Alberto Castillo has Ecuador down 0-1 already.

There is no better striker than el tin delgado! Name somebody please!!!!!!!!!! Leon if you perfer Kaviedes over tin you’re crazy because did you see how kaviedes was playing against ireland and peru? It’s true that el tin does need open spaces but if ecuador plays good he would get the open spaces or make open spaces, how do you think he scored all the other goals for ecuador in the qualifying matches. Whoever disagrees with my statement i think they’re wrong. I’m not saying he is great like he was before, but he is still decent. Look at the world cup. Who scored almost half of the goals? Carlos Tenerio scored almost half of the goals too, but he’s not even doing good in la copa america. I still think tin delgado is the best striker from ecuador because he has the most expierence. I hope Luis fernado suarez gives him a chance, tin did say he was going to retire after the cup, but if he does give him a chance i think tin would approve.

Kevin,
Get over it. Tin WAS a great striker but he will not be back to play for the tri. We need to change Hurtado and maybe Mora. I am not on any crack guys. I follow the competitions very closely. I like how kaviedes plays because he is disruptive in the field and opens up spaces. THat is what we are missing.

SAludos and lets see what happens on Weds

Should be a good match for sure :D as for the Tin debate in my opinion he is was our best and has the most experience and don’t get me wrong I’d love to see Tin on the park scoring great goals again but whether he can keep up now I’m not so sure especially with the ban keeping him away for a while, let’s face it even Delgado himself has said he has no intentions of returning especially with that forever niggling injury with his knee I’m sure his more than content playing at club level :D still with that all said I really think he should come in and help us on the training pitch he would be more than valuable to our strikers and provide great morale boost at the very least. :D I think Hurtado should maybe be thinking the same approach, to let the new guys shine and stick around to share his experience with the new guys. As for Mora … again :P I think Fernando is right he just needs some time to mature but that said I think we should be trying others :D STILL SI SE PUEDE!!!! and let’s get some pride back :D

Christian and Leon, I agree with you that we don’t need el tin. He’s over ever since he kicked the players of Barcelona.

Nobody understands why I like Benitez so much? Let me tell you. La panterita is the BEST ECUADORIAN STRIKER WE HAVE RIGHT NOW!! He is a master and a dribbler, hes afraid of no one. I like his attitude and style. He should go to Spain real soon. Not even Tenorio plays like him. Speaking of Super Teno he not playing that good. To much chances being wasted an I thought that the majority of our goals would come from him. Instead we already have two MIDFIELDERS that had to scored!!!

Im glad Kaviedes not here. He’s a maleta and I never like the way he disappears for the national team sometimes. Salas would have been perfect. From what I heard now though is that Borja will start against Brazil, and let me tel you, just give him a cross and he’ll put it into the net. remember that goal he made last time we played Brasil!!!

Oh yeah and I should mention (like i have been doing all week) Hurtado should be replaced BADLY.

Kevin,
Why do you need to show your limited IQ and bad manners. Lets keep this blog friendly, funny, informative and respectable. You can express your opinion but not your insults.
Es la ultima vez que digo esto huevon o te saco la chucha.

Dear Sweet Kevin,
The following is the line up for tomorrow. It is how we predicted. Mora and Hurtado out!!!!!

Fuentes de la delegación ecuatoriana dijeron que la más probable alineación para enfrentarse al Brasil de Robinho será con: Marcelo Elizaga, Oscar Baguí, Giovanni Espinoza, Jorge Guaga y Neicer Reasco, Antonio Valencia, Walter Ayoví, Segundo Castillo, Edison Méndez, Félix Borja y Cristian Benítez.

I’m not sure about the keeper choice yet, because I havent seen him play much but it’s still good to see the changes with Hurtado and I’m very keen to see Borja get some goals combined with Benitez we got ourselves one hell of a team :D and hopefully our guys up the back can show why they should have been first choice to start with :D SI SE PUEDE!!! and as for Kevin’s little hissy fit lol dude take your pills or something :P

Look all im saying is that I yes I think el tin delgado should be given a shot. If you guys think he shouldn’t be given a shot well that’s your opionion, you don’t got to keep telling me, “NO HE SHOULDN’T PLAY” It’s so annoying! Leon don’t come at me with that bs saying this is the last time your going to tell me this and me sacas la chucha, You don’t even know me punk. You started this problem, my bad for telling you guys to shut the fuck up, but you guys think you’re better than me or smarter talking like a white man. I want to end this shit right now because i don’t want to waste my time trash talking to guys like you. It aint worth it. Leon you’re dumb all the fucking players from ecuador are black except for mora and tenorio. So don’t say i must be from ibarra you racist piece of shit.

That’s all I need to say :)

~OH YEAH SORRY TRENT~

Suarez doesn’t know what he’s doing. He’s putting walter ayovi in and he can’t even produce a long cross, well suarez did change the defence a little bit. I hope everything goes right for Ecuador!

I really hope Ayovi steps up and gives the defensive game of his life! Excuse me for not knowing but is Carlos Tenorio injured, because he is more effective then Borja (hope he proves me wrong). Reasco is back too which is nice to see, I honestly think he’s good enough for the Premiership. Also great news for Wigan fans as they have announced that Valencia will stay at the club for the forseeable future- Awesome…

Well I personally apologise to all bloggers for my part in the recent blogs that may have offended you. I’d like to say right now for the record I distance myself very far from any racism of any sort and Kevin I happen to be a huge Delgado fan I just don’t happen to agree with bringing him back, after all its what makes this blog so great the fact we can all share our opinions freely and get feedback from others that share the same passion. I apologise if I ever gave the impression that “I’m better or smarter” cause that was never my intention, I’m here for one reason to share my passion for “OUR TEAM” :D SI SE PUEDE!!! ;)

Kevin,
I enjoyed your e mail but you should use spell check both in English and Spanish. Anyway, today is going to be an interesting game. I hope we can put it together and win.

Is anyone watching the SUB20. USA, Argentina, Brazil & Mexico are playing some great games. Its a shame that Ecuador did not qualify. I hope they play better in the Pan American games SUB18

Speaking of the sub-20 i think Fernando Guerrro Vasquez should be called up for the 2010 world cup qualifying matches also Michael Arroyo. They’re really talented.

Yo Kevin no offense with that paisano joke man. Chill it was a joke nothing else.

I think Michael Arroyo is not good. If he wants a chance with the seleccion he needs to create chances instead of trying to do tricks and then pass back. Guerrero is definitely a good player though. With him and Felipe Caicedo AND Deixon Mendez i hope Ecuador can rebuild itself again.

We need to beat Brasil by two goals.

Ecuador needs a “mago” for the second half and i think carlos arroyo is perfect. He shouldn’t play for the whole game, only in the second half.

Hey guys El Tin was awesome in his prime but may have lost some of his magic and Kaviedes is just a little brat. Also when I saw Kaviedes and the team in New Jersey for the Ireland game, he didn’t do squat against second stringers. Overrated and a brat

With that said I’ll take EL TIN over Kaviedes anyday
