Chiriboga on La Tri’s Goals

May 23rd, 2006 | By: Trent | 1 Comment »

FEF head Luis Chiriboga says Ecuador must strive to outdo its 2002 performance. There seems to be a general consensus that La Tri’s goal must be to at least do better than its first go-round in Japan-Korea. Four years ago, Ecuador lost to Italy and Mexico and defeated Croatia, bowing out in the group stage.

What do you think? Will getting more than 3 points make this Cup successful? Or must La Tri get to the final sixteen? Beyond?

I think final 16 is achievable and so would mean a succesful world cup but anyhting more would be brilliant. More than 3 points without qualifying for the next round would constitute an average world cup in my view for this team.
