Biggest. Match. Ever.
So says Ecuador striker Carlos Tenorio about the team’s upcoming match against Costa Rica. If Germany defeat Poland on Wednesday, then a win for Ecuador against the Ticos would in fact mean qualification for La Tri.
So, yeah, I guess he’s right. The match against Costa Rica is the biggest match in the history of Ecuadorian football. But, uh, no pressure boys!

Wow, the biggest game in Ecuadors history. Talk about pressure. I may have to wear my “Depends” on game day but that’s of course why I am here on the couch and not on the pitch!

La nueva barra de Ecuador deberia ser al ritmo de “Matador” by Fabulosos Cadillacs. It should go ” ECUADOOOOOR, ECUADOOOOOR, HOY TU GANAS MI ECUADOR,
ECUADOOOOOR, ECUADOOOOR, VALIENTE ECUADOR!!!”

What if Poland beats Germany, then what does Ecuador have to do in the next game (or two) in order to still make it to the second round?

Well, Germany beat Poland. The question is…what if Costa Rica beats Ecuador? That leaves both at 1-1. I’m new to the World Cup so am not sure what the normal protocols would be to decide which (if either) moves on.
