2006 World Cup Kits
Ecuador have unveiled the national team’s home kits that will be used throughout the World Cup. This be them:

As you can see, they are made by Marathon. Marathon has outfitted the team before, and has provided strips for several of the domestic league’s teams including Barcelona (de Guayaquil) and Deportivo Cuenca.
On one hand, I’m glad to see a kit that looks a little different from the Nike variations on a theme. On the other hand…these are very uninspiring. Being a relative minnow in the international football sea, Ecuador need something that stands out even more. That’s why I prefer kits like the old chestnuts from the days of yore: 1975_kits.JPG. Those are more striking, and even if the blue stripe is reminiscent of the River Plate sash, they have more panache than the 2006 edition.
You can buy them here.

I agree that it is cool that they have a different uniform maker, but that jersey just looks cheap. Like something I would wear when I play in my church league on the weekends.

[...] There seems to be some confusion over just which kits Ecuador will be wearing at the World Cup. Contra this, it looks as if the following will be Ecuador offical Germany 2006 kits, with two alternate/away strips from which to choose. Oddly, my original take is still valid! [...]
